From Rotary to the World  -  A Gift of Peace

 
As 2020 draws to a close we review a very challenging year with a look back at some of the great things the Rotary Club of Ajax has done. Since inception in 1951, the Rotary Club of Ajax has contributed over $1,000,000 to worthy causes - thanks to the generosity and energy of support of the community.
 
Rotary support spreads locally and around the world:
 
Annually - $5,500-6,000 to Polio Plus – for the final victory over Polio
 
2019  -  $75,000 to the Ajax Hospital  to purchase new “Smart Pumps” for enhanced patient safety;
 
2018  -  Local residents enjoyed the 45th annual Father’s Day Pancake Breakfast;
 
2016  -  $45,000 to Durham College – one of Ontario’s leading colleges of applied arts and technology -  for their new “International Building”;
 
2015  -  $75,000 to Grandview Children’s new Centre in Ajax;
 
2015  -  $75,000 to the Salvation Army towards their Building Fund in Ajax;
 
2011  -  $60,000 towards a Playground in North Ajax  for Special Needs children;
 
2010  -  $60,000 towards the Extended Care  Unit at the Ajax Hospital to meet the growing needs of the expanding population of Ajax and area
 
100% of all funds Rotary raises go to support worthy causes.                                         
 
For 116 years Rotary’s prime mission has been the promotion of International Peace and Good Will, work which secures for Rotary the highest consultative status at the United Nations available to non-Governmental organizations.
